Watch: Touching farewell to <I>Mythbusters</I> fan favourites leaving the show after 10 years

Mythbusters has said goodbye to the trio of assistants that made the show over the past decade. Watch the touching farewell from their last episode in the video above.

Assistants Kari Byron, Tory Belleci and Grant Imahara explained via Twitter that they are moving on because the show will be taking a new direction.

"I guess you guys are finding out the news right about now," Kari tweeted. "After a decade of MythBusters we are no longer with the show.

"Thank you to all the fans who have supported us. The show is taking a new direction.

"It was an amazing run. I learned so much about myself and the world. I love you all @MythBusters. I am sad for an ending but there will be exciting new adventures for us."

Hosts Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman will hold the reigns of the hit series when it returns for the next season.

Adam shared the cute pic below of the whole team on the set, captioned: "@KariByron, @grantimahara and @ToryBelleci, it's been a pleasure to not only work with you but call you our friends." Aww, you guys!
