Watch: Fitzy quits Nova with F-bomb rant
Ryan "Fitzy" Fitzgerald shocked his Nova FM bosses this morning when he resigned from the Fitzy and Wippa show with an expletive-ridden rant.
Nova's producers went into meltdown mode and it was all caught on camera — because it was just one big April Fool's prank (one day early)!
Fitzy and co-host Michael "Wippa" Wipfli secretly planned the fake exit by pre-recording a talk break that aired only in the Nova building. They fooled their bosses into thinking it was a live radio segment — watch Fitzy's dramatic F-bomb-laden speech and his colleagues' horror above.
"We're not even sure how we pulled it off," Fitzy tweeted. "We had our bosses on their knees in our April Fool's stitch-up."
Nova marketing director Shaun Heron tweeted: "Watch the moment my world came crashing down... Thanks @FitzySA and @wippa."
Fitzy's not going anywhere, for the record. Fitzy and Wippa signed a four-year multi-million dollar deal with Nova Entertainment (formerly DMG Radio), in August last year.
The cheeky duo pulled a similar prank earlier this month, getting Karl Stefanovic to call Today show colleague Richard Wilkins and tell him he's quitting the show...
