The mother-of-eight brought her twins onto the US TODAY show to defend speculation that the kids were "messed up" after growing up with cameras watching their every move.

But the silence made notoriously hot-tempered Kate lose her temper and snap her fingers at the girls. Uncomfortable viewing? You got it!

The twins shot to fame alongside their siblings, nine-year-old sextuplets Collin, Aaden, Joel, Leah, Alexis, and Hannah in reality TV show Jon & Kate Plus 8.

there has constantly been worrying reports over the years about Kate's mothering skills. Back in 2009, she was caught on camera hitting her daughter Leah.

in 2012, diary entries revealed she smacked her children with a wooden spoon and pulled their hair when they are naughty. Worrying stuff!

Interestingly, body language expert Dr. Lillian Glass gave her opinion on the girls' silent act and claims they were "emotionally intimidated".

"They were obviously manipulated into this, they had many opportunities to speak,” Dr. Glass told Hollywoodlife.com

The twins' father Jon Gosselin also spoke to TMZ about the TODAY show appearance. "I feel horrible for my children," he said. "Because now they have to deal with the public."
