Val Kilmer addresses cancer rumours, says he's 'healing all the time'

Val Kilmer has finally addressed rumours that he has been battling cancer over the past two years, which he had vigorously denied.

The 57-year-old Top Gun actor said in a Reddit Ask Me Anything forum that he had a  "healing of cancer", but didn't clarify further exactly what that entitled.

One Reddit user asked about a comment Michael Douglas made last October, in which the actor said Val was "dealing with exactly what I had" — a reference to his own oral cancer diagnosis in 2010.

"He was probably trying to help me cause press probably asked where I was these days, and I did have a healing of cancer, but my tongue is still swollen altho healing all the time," Val responded.

"Because I don't sound my normal self yet people think I may still be under the weather."

Reports of Val's poor health began to surface in 2015 and 2016, when the actor was regularly photographed covering his neck with a scarf.

Back in November, he first addressed rumours that he had cancer in a Facebook post. He said was receiving treatment for a lump in his throat, but that he had "no cancer whatsoever."

The Batman Forever star also spoke about speculation that he was forgoing cancer treatment because of his religious beliefs as a Christian Scientist.

"Some fans have mistakenly thought my silence about my personal issues meant that somehow I wasn't being responsible to my health, because of my reliance on prayer and Love. Nothing could be further from the truth," he wrote.
