Sarah Snook wins best actress at the Tony Awards 2025: 'Means so much for a little Australian girl'
Australian actress Sarah Snook has won her very first Tony Award for her incredible performance on stage in Picture of Dorian Gray.
The 37-year-old star, who hails from Adelaide and is known for her work in Succession and The Dressmaker, was visibly overjoyed and overwhelmed as she received the accolade for Best Actress in a Play.
"Thank you so much for this... this means so much for a little Australian girl to be here on Broadway," Snook said in her acceptance speech in the star-studded room.

"This is an intimidating room full of incredibly talented people."
The actress thanked her team and people on the play and said: "It's billed as a one-person show but I don't feel alone."
She also shared a sweet message to her husband Dave Lawson while on stage, thanking him for "holding the fort down".

"This means so much for a little Australian girl to be here on Broadway," she said. Paramount +
"An exceptional thank you to my husband, my soulmate. You are so brilliant holding the fort down and keeping our family together," the mother-of-one said.
Before going inside, the actress shared a fun series of selfies from the red carpet with her husband.
"Last on the carpet! #tonys," she captioned the post to her thousands of followers.

Snook looked glamorous in a nude embellished gown as she hit the red carpet at the event, with her strawberry blonde locks swept back and off her face.
In Picture of Dorian Gray, the adaptation of Oscar Wilde's work by The Sydney Theatre Company, she plays all 26 roles.
In April last year, Snook won an Olivier Award for her work in the production, which has played on stages including in London's West End.
