The Wiggles star Lachlan Gillespie debuts new relationship with ballerina co-star Dana Stephensen

Two months after embarking on a new relationship, Lachlan Gillespie has debuted his girlfriend on Instagram.

On Friday morning, the lovable Purple Wiggle shared a photo of himself and new love Dana Stephensen looking cosy on a night out. The 33-year-old children's entertainer left the image captionless but added two lightbulb emojis. 

It was in August when he was first linked to ballet dancer and mother-of-one Stephensen, who Gillespie reportedly met in December on the set of The Wiggles after she starred in the DVD The Wiggles Big Ballet Day.

Hours before she and Gillespie became Instagram official, Stephensen — who is mum to four-year-old Jasper from a previous relationship — also took to Instagram to share a telling quote from late Canadian author, L.M Montgomery.

"I believe the nicest and sweetest days are not those on which anything very splendid or wonderful or exciting happens but just those that bring simple little pleasures, following one another softly, like pearls slipping off a string," read the quote, which Stephensen captioned, "Simple little pleasures... the most beautiful kind of all."

It was just last year that Gillespie split from wife Emma Watkins, aka Emma the Yellow Wiggle. The couple made the announcement in August 2018 saying that the pair had amicable decided to go their separate ways after two years of marriage.

"We have, and continue to share, the most beautiful life together, but we wanted to let you know that privately for the last six months we have been navigating through a trial separation, and we have made the decision to separate as a couple," 30-year-old Watkins wrote on Instagram at the time.
