The Last Resort's Sharday reveals her weight demons: 'I still have the big girl mentality'

She oozes confidence, but The Last Resort's Sharday has struggled to come to terms with her weight demons since dropping 60kgs at the age of 21.  

The 27-year-old appears alongside ex-partner Josh on Nine's reality series, and it's no secret that she's become one of the most contentious characters on the relationship bootcamp show.  

Together, they share two-year-old daughter, Tyla, but their relationship is plagued with Sharday's volatility, something she admits stems from her own "extreme" insecurities.

"When you're a big girl you kind of still keep the mentality of a big girl," the mother-of-one tells TheFIX.

She admits there are days when she still looks in the mirror and sees the "fat girl".

The experts believe her outbursts on The Last Resort reveal an angry, highly insecure woman -- and as we see in episode four, when she accuses Josh of having feelings for a co-worker -- it's clear her issues are destroying every opportunity they have at any future happiness.

"I had extreme insecurities that I hadn't let go of from the past," Sharday tells us, after having wrapped filming. "And they did somewhat affect my relationship."  

But it's not until her one-on-one session with psychologist Sandy Rea during episode five that we come to understand the depth of this self-doubt.

"It would be insecurities towards other women -- and this was something I brought up with Sandy," Sharday says. "She kind of just got me to delve into it a bit more -- which ended up opening up a s---load of issues."

According to Sharday, it was Sandy, not Josh who she confided in most during the show.

"To be honest, Sandy was probably my biggest support," she says.
