The estimated price of Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas' lavish 3-day wedding in India
Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra's wedding was certainly one to remember!
Over the weekend, the couple wed in not one, but two lavish ceremonies in Jodhpur, India, after a four-month engagement. And according to reports, and the beautiful photos the couple has shared to social media, the 26-year-old pop singer and the 36-year-old Hollywood star spared no expense.
According to US website Refinery29, Jonas and Chopra's wedding festivities totalled an estimated (and eye-watering) US$584,000 (AUD$793,396).
Here's how that all breaks down:
For starters, the couple flew from New York City to Jodhpur, which, if flying first class (as we can presume they did), costs an estimated US$10,000 (AUD$13,586).
On Saturday, December 1 (Sunday, December 2 AEST), the festivities kicked off with a Christian ceremony at the luxury estate Taj Umaid Bhawan Palace in Jodhpur, which was officiated by Jonas' father Paul. According to a local report, the couple rented out the entire property for their guests, which reportedly cost US$461,000 (AUD$626,294) alone.
The palace, the sixth largest private home in the world, reportedly created a helipad just so guests could get around for the weekend.
Honouring Chopra's faith, the couple also celebrated with Hindu wedding ceremonies, including the mehendi ritual, where Chopra had henna applied to her hands and feet. In addition, there was the musical Sangeet ceremony, where the Jonas families -- including brother Joe and his fiancé, Game of Thrones star Sophie Turner -- and Chopra families sang and performed traditional dances.
The price tag for these ceremonies? US$42,000 (AUD$57,059), according to The Times of India, while the catering reportedly clocked in at US$61,000. Initially, the Hindu ceremonies were supposed to take place at the historic Mehrangarh Fort, but it was reportedly moved due to security reasons.
And according to Refinery29's report, the total US$584,000 figure doesn't even include the cost of Chopra's wedding dresses (she reportedly had several)! For her Western ceremony, she wore a custom gown by American designer Ralph Lauren, Vogue confirmed.
