Lover, Swift's seventh studio alum, is Australia's highest-selling album of 2019 and achieved the highest first-week sales in Australia since her previous album, 2017's Reputation.

Swift's Melbourne Cup appearance announcement comes after as she announced plans to re-record all her early songs from when she was signed to Big Machine Records.
