"My husband has Covid. And I'm scared," she said. "Today I'm not as scared as yesterday but yesterday I felt very out of control. It was rough and touch and go. All the hospitals are full and his fever of 103 wouldn't break for days and it got to a very scary place."

Sursok said she and her two daughters, Phoenix, seven, and Lennon, who turns two on Sunday, have since been tested twice for coronavirus and have all returned negative results. The family have also been staying in quarantine and following official guidelines.

"We have been in the same place in Austin for two months now," she continued. "Haven't seen friends and family, haven't eaten out, [Phoenix] is homeschooled. The only place we could have got it is the grocery store [because] we haven't been near anyone and the whole family is always masked.

"Covid is real. It's scary and I now see it firsthand. I've been really scared and in a dark place and I'm writing this to say I'm struggling and I love you all and this community."

Sursok married film producer McEwen in August 2011, in an intimate ceremony in Florence, Italy.

Just days ago, the actress asked her followers for medical advice after a mysterious rash began developing all over her body.

"What is this?! I should probably ask my doctor," the Aquamarine star said in her Instagram Story. "Please DM me, what is going on?"

According to a doctor that she went and spoke to, it appeared to be an allergic reaction to bites.

"But I've looked everywhere for bedbugs. Nothing. No sign," she wrote on her Story. "And I haven't seen a chigger on me."
