Sophie Monk rubbishes claims she didn't invite guests to wedding due to 'family rift': 'No truth to that story'

Sophie Monk has spoken out about claims a family rift was the reason she secretly eloped with new husband Joshua Gross.

The Love Island Australia host clarified reports published last week that claimed she and Gross did not invite any guests to their wedding earlier this month because there was "tension" between Monk's parents, Andrew and Sandi, and her sister Lucy.

The report suggested the former Bachelorette star's parents even moved out of the Gold Coast home she shared with them due to the alleged "family rift".

"Yeah, everything's good with my family," Monk cleared up on The Kyle And Jackie O Show this morning after host Kyle Sandilands asked if they were on "talking terms".

"I don't actually don't even know where they got that from. We always planned on doing it [getting married] by ourselves. I don't think you're going to change your wedding plans for anyone, are you? So there is no truth to that story."

It was on April 2 that Monk excitedly announced she and Gross, a marketing executive, tied the knot in secret at their home on the NSW Central Coast.

"I HAVE A HUBBY!" she wrote on Instagram alongside some gorgeous photos taken from the event. "We eloped-ish at home. I can't believe I met him on a plane! It's crazy. Best flight of my life! I really do believe everything happens for a reason.

"I love you @joshuargross thanks for putting up with how messy, disorganised and lazy I am," she added. "You're my best friend in the world AND you are welcome for how hilarious my jokes are and how I absolutely smash you in Xbox F1! We're both lucky."
