Who is Skepta, Adele's rumoured new boyfriend?

Adele, 32, has been rumoured to be dating fellow British artist Skepta, 38, for over a year. But it appears the relationship is reportedly "heating up" according to recent reports by People.

"They run in the same circles in London, and she's having fun," the insider said.

Skepta is an award-winning artist

Skepta's real name is Joseph Junior Adenuga Jr. He is a hip hop artist from Tottenham, London, which is also where Adele is from.

He is best known for his work in the grime scene. Skepta started out as a DJ for the grime crew Meridian Crew.

In 2007, he released his first studio album. He's had top 10 hits on the UK R&B Chart with 'Bad Boy', 'Rescue Me', 'Cross My Heart', 'Hold On', 'Make Peace Not War', and 'Shutdown'.

Skepta and Adele were first believed to be an item in 2019

Skepta and Adele have known each other for quite some time.

In 2016, Adele shared a photo of Skepta, with the caption "Tottenham Boy."

In 2016, Skepta said in an interview with ES Magazine, "Adele texts me all the time and keeps me in check. She speaks to me about how things are going."

The pair reportedly looked out for one another after their respective relationship breakdowns. In April 2019, Adele split from her ex-husband Simon Konecki.

By October 2019, there was speculation that they were a couple. The Sun first reported that they celebrated the rappers 37th birthday together in London.

"Adele and Skepta have been there for each other a lot after both their relationships split up. They have a close bond and there's definitely a special connection," a source told The Sun. "They're spending more and more time together. Some of their friends are hoping and predicting they could end up being a great couple one day."

The speculation surrounding their relationship went quiet until June this year when Skepta dropped a flirty comment on Adele's Instagram.

Fans were led to believe the pair were back on.

Since rumours have started swirling that the pair are dating again, Adele shut them down in a single Instagram post.

"Going back to my cave now to be the (single) cat lady that I am," she wrote after her recent hosting gig on SNL.

Skepta seemingly wrote a song about Adele

Skepta released his album Insomnia on March 27. One song off the record appeared to reference his romantic interactions with big celebrities.

Lyrics from Skepta's song 'Mic Check', are reportedly about Adele: "Can you handle the fame? You know you're f---ing with a star. When you're f---ing with me, they talk about you in the press." This has never been officially confirmed.

Skepta previously dated Naomi Campbell

Skepta has been previously linked to model Naomi Campbell.

On March 2018, the former couple seemingly confirmed they were together on the cover of British GQ.

Skepta and Campbell reportedly split after she learned he was expecting a child with another woman, The Sun reported.

Skepta and Adele are both parents

Skepta has a daughter, River, who was born in 2019.

Meanwhile, Adele shares eight-year-old son Angelo Adkins with her ex Simon Konecki.
