Simone or Dannii Minogue? Shane Warne's love triangle

Following his December break-up with fiancée Liz Hurley, it looks like Shane Warne has found comfort back in the arms of two of his favourite ladies – ex-wife Simone Callahan and old friend Dannii Minogue.

New Idea claims the former cricketer is getting close to both Simone and Dannii. The evidence? Well, chemistry was thick in the air between Shane and Simone as they recently laughed and flirted on the sidelines of son Jackson's football game in Melbourne. He also buddied up with Dannii at last week's Logie awards, the pair taking selfies together on the red carpet.

The singer turned reality TV star, 42, has been linked to Shane, 44, numerous times in the past and has previously hinted of a fling. "The funniest thing is I know nothing about cricket," Dannii told the Daily Mirror in 2005. "He keeps saying, 'Come to a game' and I'm like, I don't know what you do."

When questioned about the nature of their relationship, she revealed that it was his unfavourable public image that had kept her away romantically. "He's got enough to contend with, with his reputation," she said. His scandals have since blown over, so perhaps times they are a changing for the superstar pals.

Chatting to Kiss FM's Kyle and Jackie O, a heart-broken Warnie revealed that he hadn't been on a date in the "sad time" since splitting from Liz. "It's always sad when you break up in a relationship you're happy in, but unfortunately that's just the way things work out," he said.

Unfortunately for him, 43-year-old Simone says she's moved on and is happy with her partner Toby Roberts, 39. "There are definitely no feelings there," she told New Idea. "Shane and I gave it a good shot and we're much better the way things are as friends."

But according to her ex-hubby, never say never. "We'll always love each other," he previously said to the magazine. "We'll always be best mates and who knows what the future holds for the both of us."
