K-pop star Seo Minwoo found dead in Seoul apartment at 33

Fans are mourning the loss of K-pop singer Seo Minwoo after he tragically died at age 33.

According to record label Top Media, the 33-year-old Korean superstar was found unconscious in his home in Gangnam, Seoul on March 25 and reportedly died after going into cardiac arrest, however, the official cause of death has yet to be released.

The actor and musician rose to fame in 2012 as the lead singer of boy band 100% but took a break from performing to complete mandatory military service in 2014.

His acting credits include Sharp 3, The King and I, New Tales of Gisaeng and Where Are You Going?.

His 100% bandmate Changbum paid tribute to the late musician on Instagram, writing in Korean, "I hope you are comfortable in the sky. I want you to be a bright star and shine on this world."

"His family, the 100% members, and the Top Media artists and staff members are all grief-stricken and in mourning from the unexpected, sad news," Top Media wrote on their website in Korean.

The statement went on to describe him as a "warm-hearted" man and an artist who deeply loved his fans, who are understandably shaken by the news.

One fan applauded the late singer for his ongoing support of LGBTQ rights, and claimed that Top Media tried to break up his band.

This is the second K-pop death in recent months, with SHINee member Kim Jong-hyun passing away in December at the age of 27.
