Selma Blair says she wasn't making fun of people with disabilities when she wore a tiny hand

Actress Selma Blair recently had a bit of fun with the paps.

On November 28, the 46-year-old Cruel Intentions star walked arm-in-arm with her boyfriend Ron Carlson while wearing a tiny fake hand.

She also shared a selfie on Instagram from inside her car -- tiny hand included --  writing in the caption, "Just the usuals going's ons. Waiting to give my son [7-year-old Arthur Saint Bleick] a hand after school."

The Daily Mail published photos of the actress, and a reader criticised her for the tiny hand gag, suggesting Blair was making fun of people with disabilities.

The comment read: "Shaming people with disabilities is NEVER funny. Sick and inappropriate. NEVER funny."

Blair took to Instagram to address this, writing: "This comment from daily mail commenter first made me feel horrible. And then I realized a fully formed perfect tiny hand was not a disability. Unless this person was writing about me. Then no. Never funny… It is a teen tiny rubber hand!!!!! F--- off. With love. Have a laugh."

Blair recently shared that she is living with multiple sclerosis.

"I have had symptoms for years but was never taken seriously until I fell down in front of [Dr Jason Berkley] trying to sort out what I thought was a pinched nerve," she wrote on Instagram on October 21. "I have probably had this incurable disease for 15 years at least. And I am relieved to at least know."

Blair explained that she was diagnosed with the disease on August 16, and described the effect it has had on her life.

"I am disabled. I fall sometimes. I drop things. My memory is foggy," she continued. "And my left side is asking for directions from a broken gps. But we are doing it."
