Sandra Bullock files for divorce, adopts baby

Sandra Bullock has revealed that she's filed for a divorce from her cheating husband Jesse James and she's a new mum - to a three-and-a-half month old African American child.

No, it's not some rumour made up by the tabloids - there she is on the cover of People magazine with her new kid!

People scored the double scoop from Sandra, with the 45-year-old giving them the exclusive pics and interview about her new son, Louis, as well as the scoop on her divorce.

The baby, born in New Orleans, came to live with Sandra and Jesse in January, but Sandra says she's now finalising the adoption as a single parent.

"He's just perfect, I can't even describe him any other way," the new mum tells People. "It's like he's always been a part of our lives."

When her husband's affairs became public knowledge in March, Sandra says the news came as a total shock to her.

"I did the only thing I could do, and that was to pack enough clothes to live on, get all of Louis' things and get out of town. My main concern was Louis."

She confirms that she has now filed for divorce and she plans to raise Louis on her own.

"I will be adopting as a single parent. Anything else will be taken day by day."

"I'm sad and I am scared," she says of ending her five year marriage. But adds that she plans to continue seeing her step-children Sunny, 6, Jesse Jr., 12, and Chandler, 15.

'I don't want to know what life is like without those kids," says Sandra. "Whatever we need to do, in the healthiest way, we are going to be co-parenting."
