Ryan Reynolds confirms 'Deadpool 3'

Ryan Reynolds delivered a Christmas gift to Deadpool fans- confirmation that Deadpool 3 is in the works!

The 43-year-old actor appeared on Live with Kelly and Ryan on Christmas Eve where he confirmed with the hosts Kelly Ripa and Ryan Seacrest that the third instalment of the franchise would definitely be happening.

Reynolds who played the foul-mouthed character Deadpool in the films, was dressed up in a Christmas themed sweater for the occasion, as he excitedly told the ABC hosts about the upcoming film.

'Yeah we're working on it right now with the whole team,' Reynolds told Kelly and Ryan.

'We're over at Marvel Studios now, which is like the big leagues all of a sudden." He continued. "It's kinda crazy. So yeah, we're working on Deadpool 3."

The future of the films had been uncertain, with Disney's 20th Century Fox acquisition earlier in the year, so fans were obviously relieved to hear the news.

Many were worried that Disney wouldn't be able to produce the films, because they have more of an adult nature than other Disney branded films. But Reynolds has put an end to those worries, assuring fans that Disney are absolutely on board and that his character would stay as r-rated as he has been in previous films.

According to ComicBook.com, Deadpool and Deadpool 2 were the highest grossing Rated R films in box office history, before the Joker was released.

Deadpool and Deadpool 2 have made $USD 1.5 billion worldwide with Deadpool 3 sure to follow suit. An official release date for the film is yet to be announced.
