Ruby Rose shares wheelchair-bound photo after undergoing spinal procedure

Ruby Rose revealed she’s been suffering a “spine issue”, tweeting a picture in a wheelchair from hospital as she recovers from a procedure.

The 31-year-old Orange is the New Black actress told her 1.34-million Twitter followers that she’d be taking some time off to recover.

“So..For the past few years (decade) I’ve been dealing with a spine issue," she posted.

“I am now recovering from a back procedure, but I do need to stay active, so before I get seen with my cane and wheelchair in public, I’d rather put it out there that I’m fine and going to be fine.”

The Aussie star also shared a picture with girlfriend Jessica Origliasso leaning over her wheelchair, writing, “Behind every strong female lead is another strong female lead.”

Rose has previously revealed her spine issues originated from a serious car accident.

Addressing negative comments about her weight on December 4 following the Pitch Perfect premiere, she wrote, “This is always my back,. I have a tilted posterior (it’s why I have abs but no butt) and spinal curvature from a bad car accident."

But her back struggles have led Rose to make a recent positive change to her health: quitting smoking.

Referring to cigarettes as “filthy, smelly, dirty”, she tweeted January 19, “I quit yesterday. And for my back ( and Mum ) I’ll never start again.”
