Did Richard Wilkins secretly date Eva Mendes? Son 'jokingly' confirms the rumours

During an appearance on The Kyle and Jackie O Show, Richard Wilkins' 21-year-old son Christian seemed to confirm the rumours that his dad once dated actress Eva Mendes.

"Who's that girl that he dated?" Kyle asked. "It was a secret, a movie star".

"Eva Mendes," Jackie O said.

"What's the go with that?" Kyle asked Christian.

"I didn't even actually realise that was public knowledge," Christian replied. "So there you go."

"Oh I don't think it is," Kyle told him, "I think it may be personal stuff that sometimes in my old age I confuse what the public know and what I know."

Richard worked with and interviewed Eva at several events in 2008 and 2011, and the rumours that their relationship went beyond professional have long circulated.

Still, a Nine spokesperson insists that "Christian was definitely joking".

Eva Mendes has been dating Ryan Gosling since September 2011, and the pair have two children together. Richard is also rumoured to have dated Brooke Shields in the early '90s.

Kyle and Jackie O went on to cover a range of Dickie-related topics, including his legendary, er, equipment.

Christian admitted that his dad had warned him that Kyle would probably "ask about my penis", and of course, he did!

"You would have tripped over that thing a thousand times," Kyle joked. "What's the real go because it's legendary among the Australian entertainment business…it's a two hander…Give us your father's length, throw the numbers out in inches."

While Christian stopped short of divulging specifics, he didn't deny the speculation.

"Double figures," Christian replied. "That's all I'll say."
