Reese Witherspoon slams Renée Zellweger's female face critics

Reese Witherspoon is over bitchy women. The Oscar winner takes them down while standing up for Renée Zellweger in the latest issue of the Hollywood Reporter.

"It's horrible. It's cruel and rude and disrespectful," the cover girl says of the criticism and commentary on Renée's dramatically different face. "It bothers me immensely."

Sounds a lot like something her Legally Blonde character Elle Woods might say, doesn’t it? If only more ladies in real life shared Elle's up-with-other-women attitude.

"I know this is so Pollyanna of me, but why — and it's particularly women — why do they have to tear women down?" Reese asks. "It drives me crazy. Like, this one looks great without her makeup but that one doesn't look good without her makeup, and it's all just a judgment and assault."

She does concede that men "are prey to it as well," but adds, "I just don’t think it's with the same sort of ferocity."

We see her point, but that's why cat fights are so much more fun to watch.
