Rapper Eve reveals she once suffered an ectopic pregnancy but told everyone she had appendicitis: 'Lying to myself'

American rapper Eve has revealed that she once suffered an ectopic pregnancy back in 2006, while filming her self-titled TV series.

In an excerpt of her book Who's That Girl? as shared with People, the Let Me Blow Ya Mind hitmaker, 45, said she lied to people on set and said she had appendicitis as she had to stop filming the show for two weeks.

Eve candidly says in her book that she struggled "grieving" her unborn child and admitted that at the time, she "was lying to herself".

"It was called a tubal pregnancy, where the embryonic sac ruptured in my one fallopian tube," she explained.

Speaking about telling everyone she had appendicitis and not an ectopic pregnancy, she said: "Maybe because I was lying to myself. If I faced losing my baby, then I didn't know if two weeks would be enough emotional healing time."

She added that in the years following her pregnancy heartbreak, she learned to "forgive herself" after the loss.

"I had to forgive myself and know that what had happened wasn't my fault, that I deserved to be a mother, and that I was ready to bring a baby into this world down here."

According to the Mayo Clinic, an ectopic pregnancy happens "when a fertilised egg implants and grows outside the main cavity of the uterus" and it "can't survive". It typically occurs in the fallopian tube.

In February 2022, Eve welcomed son Wilde Wolf with British entrepreneur and Gumball 3000 founder Maximillion Cooper, 52. She also has four stepchildren.

The pair have now been married for 10 years.

When she announced the birth on Instagram, she sweetly wrote at the time: "Words can't describe this feeling."
