The newest face of the Rambo film franchise has been leaked but not everyone is happy with the appointment – including Sylvester Stallone himself.

Actor Noah Centineo is reportedly taking on the role, portraying the soldier in an origin film titled John Rambo that will follow him during the Vietnam war, according to Deadline.

The 29-year-old made his name with the Netflix show To All the Boys I Loved Before, shooting him to teen heartthrob status. He followed up his success with roles in Black Adam, Charlie's Angels, The Recruit, and more.

However, he has previously weighed in on who will be taking on his iconic role.

In an appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon last year, Stallone mentioned that he wanted Ryan Gosling to play his iconic character.

"I met him at a dinner and obviously we're opposites. He's good-looking – I'm not. That's how it works," the Rocky star said.

"But he goes, 'I was fascinated by Rambo, and I used to go to school dressed as Rambo and people would chase me away and I still didn't stop.'

"He just kept saying that he had a lot of affiliation with Rambo, and I thought, this is interesting.

"If I ever pass the baton, I'll pass it on to him because he loves the character."
