Paris Jackson defends 'creepy' fan art of dad Michael and Debbie Rowe

Paris Jackson has responded after receiving backlash for sharing a piece of fan-created art on her Twitter account.

On April 9, the 20-year-old model re-posted a Photoshopped image featuring herself between her late father, pop icon Michael Jackson, and her mother Debbie Rowe. In the pic, Michael gently touches his daughter's shoulder as mum Rowe embraces Paris.

Paris tweeted back, defending the photo: "No I think it’s nice to dream about what it would be like to have parents, and to have it put into something I can see, even if it’s a fan made edit."

Petty clarified her remarks and tweeted back: "If you like it, I love it xx…didn’t mean to be unkind. Love you."

To which Paris responded, "Love u too darlin."

Paris has grown up in the public eye without her parents. Michael passed away from cardiac arrest in 2009, and Paris had an estranged relationship with Rowe until her breast cancer diagnosis in 2012. Rowe was married to Michael from 1996 until 1999. 

Paris recently admitted that while she enjoys seeing and sharing fan-created art on her social media channels, she asked her followers to stop altering her skin tone in the pics.

"I am what I am," said Paris, who is biracial. "I’m aware of what I look like and I [am] finally happy with it."
