Orlando Bloom's wild drinking reportedly 'the final straw' in Miranda Kerr split

After three years of marriage, Miranda Kerr and Orlando Bloom's 2013 split was a shock to most… but according to a source, Orlando's excessive drinking was the real reason behind the breakdown.

The same source told RadarOnline that 31-year-old Miranda couldn't deal with her former hubby's boozy ways, saying he would "black out" and "become someone else" during a heavy night out.

Pics of a bleary-eyed Bloom have now emerged from his Lord of the Rings co-star Ian McKellan's party, where friends claim he "got wasted" just months before the break up.

"Orlando was so wasted at Ian McKellan's famous dinner party, which was mostly just a wine party," the eyewitness said. "Miranda hates when Orly [his nickname] gets drunk the way he does because he usually blacks out or forgets where he is."

It's also been reported that 37-year-old Orlando's drinking was so out of control, the actor would require a buddy to take care of him at the end of the night.

"Someone usually walks him home just to be safe," the eyewitness added. "I think the drinking was the final straw Miranda used to file the divorce."

After tying the knot in 2010, the former couple released a joint statement last year revealing "they'd been amicably separated for the past few months."
