Olivia Wilde reveals truth behind rumoured 'screaming match' with Florence Pugh on set

Olivia Wilde has spoken for the first time about the behind-the-scenes drama that surrounded the 2022 film Don’t Worry Darling.
One of the biggest rumours from filming was that there were tensions on set between the three stars, Wilde, 42, Florence Pugh, 30 and Harry Styles, 32.

Wilde addressed the drama in a new interview with The Cut and spoke out about the reports that she and Pugh had a screaming match during production.
“I have never had a screaming match on my set. I was never not available on set,” the actress said.
“I wanted to be like, ‘None of this is true.’”
And while reports of tensions on set were one thing, this was also when it came out that she was dating Styles.

The pair dated for two years before splitting in 2022, but their romance dominated headlines from the moment it was made public.
Wilde reflected on the intense scrutiny around that relationship, and called what they had “loving and wonderful and joyful”.
But she was told to push back against the rumours at the time publicly.

“I was told, ‘Don’t say a f---ing word. Just go out there and smile,’” she told the outlet.
“I resent that, but it taught me it’s not the way I want to handle things.”
Wilde also noted that she felt like Hollywood had “robbed” her of her “naïveté for sure.”
The 10-year age gap between Wilde and Styles was one of the most highly scrutinised details of their romance, something she spoke about earlier this month.
Opening up to Alex Cooper on the Call Her Daddy podcast, Wilde addressed the backlash and said people were “f---ing pissed”.

“Oh man. I don’t know, it really did upset people though,” Wilde said.
She described the one-sided deeply emotional bonds fans have with Styles as “a burden that is very weighty and not something I envy.”
But away from the backlash and the intense criticism, they were so happy.
“It’s wild because we had the loveliest relationship, so, so sweet and so beautiful and really actually very domestic and kind and lovely,” she said.
“We existed in this little bubble and the judgement never really got into that bubble which is a miracle and a testament to us making that happen.”
