Nicole Kidman 'saves' her family from a giant tarantula

Nicole Kidman has been hailed a hero after capturing a terrifying tarantula from the pool at her Nashville home.

On Sunday, the 51-year-old actress shared an Instagram video of the moment she and her daughters Sunday Rose, 10, and Faith Margaret, 7, spotted a black, hairy spider crawling into their outdoor swimming pool.

While the girls screamed and warned their mum to back away from the spider ("Step back, Mum, step back!"), Kidman used a glass and a lid to captured the ~intruder~ before presumably releasing it far away from her daughters.

Kidman's pal, Naomi Watts, was impressed by the Big Little Lies star, commenting, "You are kidding me!! My worst nightmare!!!"

A fan wrote, "OMG you are my hero I would have been screaming with the kids!!!"

Kidman's husband -- and the girls' dad -- Keith Urban was nowhere to be seen during his wife's heroic act.

Kidman and Urban celebrated their 12th wedding anniversary last month.

The adorable pair -- who married in 2006 -- each shared sweet tributes to each other on social media.

"Remembering 12 years ago today at a church in Manly, Australia," Kidman wrote on Instagram on June 26, captioning an adorable video of moments from their wedding. "Still feels like it was yesterday. I'm a lucky woman ❤️ Happy Anniversary Baby."
