Nicki Minaj welcomes first child with husband Kenneth Petty

Nicki Minaj is officially a mum!

The 'Anaconda' hitmaker has given birth to her first child, TMZ confirmed on Thursday.

The rapper and her husband, Kenneth "Zoo" Petty, welcomed their baby on Wednesday, September 30, in Los Angeles. The baby's name and sex are yet to be revealed.

Minaj, 37, announced her pregnancy news on Instagram in July, alongside a series of glam maternity photos with the singer debuting her baby bump.

"#Preggers 💛," Minaj captioned her first post. In another she wrote, "Love. Marriage. Baby carriage. Overflowing with excitement & gratitude. Thank you all for the well wishes. 💛"

The exciting pregnancy news came nine months after she and Petty tied the knot and 10 months after Minaj announced her decision to retire from music to focus on her family.

"I've decided to retire & have my family. I know you guys are happy now. To my fans, keep reppin me, do it til da death of me … Love you for LIFE," she wrote on Twitter.

She later retracted her statement while responding to a fan's tweet.

"I'm still right here. Still madly in love with you guys & you know that," she tweeted. "In hindsight, this should've been a Queen Radio discussion & it will be. I promise u guys will be happy. No guests, just us talking about everything. The tweet was abrupt & insensitive, I apologise babe."

New parents Minaj and Petty are also preparing for their first wedding anniversary on October 21.

Minaj tied the knot with Petty in 2019, sharing a video on Instagram that showed matching "Mr. and Mrs." mugs and baseball caps that read "Bride" and "Groom."

"Onika Tanya Maraj-Petty 10•21•19," she captioned the clip, referring to her legal name.
