'This life is a roller coaster': Nick Kyrgios shares a heartfelt birthday tribute to girlfriend Costeen Hatzi

Tennis star Nick Kyrgios has penned an emotional birthday tribute to his girlfriend of almost three years, Costeen Hatzi.

The former world No. 13, revealed that it is both Costeen's birthday and the anniversary of his beloved grandmother's death.

In his moving post, Kyrgios, 29, admitted that "life is a roller coaster" and he's sure his yiayia would be proud of who he has "decided to go through this life with".

"This life is a roller coaster…. Last year on this day my grandma was taken from me," he wrote.

"She was an incredible person and had a habit of making everyone feel included and made sure NO ONE ever went hungry, I try to be as generous as her with my care towards others.

"As one door closes another opens…. Today is also the birthday of my beautiful partner."

Speaking about his girlfriend, he added: "Who somehow, against all odds has made it all make sense to me 🙏🏽"

"I'm sure Yiayia would be proud of who I have become but also who I have decided to go through this life with ❤️ rest easy Yiayia, happy birthday beautiful."

Just two weeks ago, Costeen, now 24, marked the Australian tennis star's 29th birthday with a heartfelt, and lengthy, message shared to thousands – but it was the single emoji left underneath the post by Kyrgios that has everyone talking.

"Happy birthday my love," Hatzi, 23, wrote on to Kyrgios via her 178,000 Instagram followers overnight alongside a series of loved-up snaps with her partner.

"I love you more and more everyday, thank you for being you and lighting up every room you walk into. Wishing you lots of success, happiness, love & good health. Forever my pooi."

Kyrgios commented underneath Hatzi's tribute within minutes of it being published, leaving a single red heart emoji underneath the post, but he also went back and commented something else an hour later.

"💍," Kyrgios wrote.

Hatzi, a businesswoman and influencer, has been dating Kyrgios since 2021.
