Nelly and Ashanti secretly married in December 2023 ceremony
While the world has been waiting to for the wedding of two Y2K icons, it turns out the duo secretly tied the knot more than six months ago.
Ashanti and Nelly said "I Do" back on December 27, 2023, according to documents obtained by People.
The duo first began dating back in the early 2000s, but went their separate ways in 2013.

A decade later in 2023, the duo rekindled their love, announcing their engagement just under a year later.
Ashanti recently shared the details of the proposal in an interview with Entertainment Tonight, revealing that her now-husband caught her completely off guard.
"We were not dressy. I definitely had one one of his T-shirts and his boxers," the singer revealed adding that it was "such a beautiful, intimate moment."
Ashanti said she had a sense that a proposal was coming soon, but she was "completely" shocked when it actually happened.
"The way that it happened was just so funny," she laughed. "I'm sitting in the bed, watching TV with boxers on, you know what I mean?
"I cried, I gave him the biggest hug and kiss ever, I FaceTimed everyone I know," she added, describing how she celebrated the moment. "I was overjoyed and shocked and surprised and happy, kinda like all in one."

Back in April she revealed the couple are also expecting their first baby together!
"This new year of my life is such a blessing full of love, hope, and anticipation," she told Essence. "Motherhood is something that I have looked forward to, and sharing this with my family, fiancé, and loyal fans, who have been so supportive of my career, is an amazing experience."
