Monica Lewinsky calls out Beyoncé for crude Bill Clinton lyrics from 2013 as singer comes under fire for new song

Monica Lewinsky has called for Beyoncé to change a line in her 2013 song, 'Partition'. 

The throwback track in question referenced the infamous dress the former White House intern wore during her scandalous affair with then-US President, Bill Clinton. 

"He popped all my buttons, and he ripped my blouse/He Monica-Lewinksy'd all on my gown," Beyoncé sang on the single, which featured in her self-titled album almost one decade ago.

Given that Beyoncé is today changing lyrics to her single 'Heated' from her newly released Renaissance album, Lewinsky feels the singer should also remove the controversial lyrics from  'Partition' too.

"Uhmm, while we're at it… #Partition," 49-year-old Lewinsky tweeted on August 2 alongside a link to a Variety article about Beyoncé changing the lyrics that was deemed an ableist slur.

The former Destiny's Child star came under fire this week from fans as well as a UK disability charity for a term she used in her song 'Heated'. On the track, Beyoncé sings "Spazzin' on that a--, spazz on that a--." The term is viewed as derogatory against people with disabilities. 

"The word, not used intentionally in a harmful way, will be replaced," a statement from Beyoncé's team read, as per Variety.

The line has since been replaced with the following: "Blastin' on that ass, blast on that ass."

Lewinsky – who infamously had an affair with Clinton between 1995 and 1997, when she was just a 22-year-old intern – previously addressed the controversial 'Partition' lyrics in a Vanity Fair article

"Thanks, Beyoncé, but if we're verbing, I think you meant 'Bill Clinton'd all on my gown,' not 'Monica Lewinsky'd,'" she wrote in an essay for the magazine.
