Model Missé Beqiri reveals devastating realisation after ex Jake Hall’s mysterious death: ‘I was there’

Swedish-Albanian model Missé Beqiri has recalled the horrible moment she discovered her ex, The Only Way Is Essex star Jake Hall, had died – and the tragic realisation that she was nearby when it happened.

Beqiri, 39, opened up about the tragic night UK reality star Hall died in May, aged 35, in Mallorca, Spain during an emotional appearance on Paul C Brunson’s We Need To Talk podcast.

A British autopsy could not determine what caused Hall’s death on May 6, but police were reportedly called to a property on the Spanish island after he was found with fatal injuries following an accident involving a glass door.

The TV star’s ex told Brunson she had not realised at the time, but she and Hall – who share eight-year-old daughter River – were both in Mallorca at the same time.

Beqiri had travelled there to visit the Swedish embassy after losing her passport and being unable to travel back to the UK after a photoshoot in nearby Ibiza.

“So, I flew into Mallorca. Then I woke up in the morning, I think it was like 8am, and I had like 10 missed calls ... So I’m thinking something’s happened to River – my heart dropped,” Beqiri said.

She had missed calls from Hall’s father, Greg, who was watching River at the time.

“He was like, ‘It’s not River, it’s Jake’ ... He was like, ‘He’s dead’. I went into total panic mode. The first thing I did was, I blamed everything on myself,” she said.

Beqiri then found out that by pure coincidence, they’d both been in the same place at the same time.

“I didn’t even realise that he was in Mallorca and I was in Mallorca,” she said.

“I wasn’t supposed to be in Mallorca, but I kind of ended up in Mallorca. So the night he died, I was there.”

Though neither knew of the other’s location, Beqiri wished Hall had reached out to her.

“I wish he just called me. I just wish he did something. But he didn’t know I was there either,” she said through tears.

Beqiri, who has appeared on The Real Housewives of Cheshire and Ladies of London, and longtime TOWIE star Hall dated for about five years.

They got engaged in 2018 before ultimately splitting in 2021. They welcomed River in 2017.

Beqiri told podcast host Brunson that seeing her daughter grieve her father was the toughest part of her own journey.

“They had a very beautiful relationship. My heart breaks for her so bad, you don’t understand,” she said.

Hall rose to fame after joining TOWIE in 2015. He was also an influencer and had his own clothing line.

Before his death, his final Instagram post read: “Life is bollocks sometimes but I’m gonna try remember the good things – looking through things – I’m just making art – in many forms.”

Days after his death, Beqiri shared a message to Instagram promising to keep their daughter “safe, loved and wrapped in the kind of love [Hall] gave so effortlessly”.

“You left behind your mini version, our River, and for that we are forever grateful. You will always live on through her, and you will forever be with us,” she said.
