Mel B addresses rumours about why she decided to check into rehab
Mel B recently revealed her plan to enter a therapy program after realising she had "been at a crisis point," and she's clearing up the rumours as to why she's seeking help.
The former Spice Girl known as Mel B (real name: Melanie Brown), 43, appeared on an episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show, set to air Wednesday in the US, to discuss her announcement to undergo treatment in Britain, made in The Sun over the weekend, which she admitted was "a little bit skewed with."
"I've been in therapy since my father got diagnosed with cancer nine years ago," the America's Got Talent judge told guest host Lea Michele. The singer also appeared to reference the "intense" relationship and divorce from ex husband Stephen Belafonte.

"My therapy changed a little bit because I was in a very intense relationship, which you can all read about in my book," Brown said of her forthcoming tome, Brutally Honest.
She continued of the book, "I do address a lot of those issues. But you know, no, I'm not an alcoholic. No, I'm not a sex addict."
Speaking more about her rocky marriage, she told Michele, "You know, I was with the same person for 10 years and that was quite a turmoil, very intense. That's all I can say about it. I'd like to say a lot more, but we're on this show -- let's keep it P.C. But yeah, I address a lot of those issues [in the book] and I did kind of have to ease my pain... I do suffer a lot from PTSD."
Rumours of sex addiction were spurred after Brown's interview with The Sun, where she told the publication of her plan for treatment, "I have made the decision to go into a proper therapy program in the next few weeks, but it has to be in the UK because I am very, very British and I know that will work best for me."
The same article also included quotes from Rusty Updegraff, a friend who described Brown as "sex-crazed" and claimed that she slept with three men in one day.
She recently settled her bitter divorce from Belafonte and was ordered to pay her ex's legal fees to the sum of $470,300. They share one child, a daughter named Madison.
