Megan Gale embraces her pregnancy woes in the realest way: 'I'm growing a freaking human'

Megan Gale is getting refreshingly raw about her pregnancy.

The 41-year-old -- who announced she was expecting her second child with her AFL partner Shaun Hampson, 29, in April -- has posted an underwear selfie revealing her growing bump as she approaches the third trimester.

In a lengthy caption accompanying the pic, the Perth-born model warned her 367K followers to "watch out, dangerous curves ahead" before playfully outlining some of her pregnancy woes.

"As I amble (not quite a waddle.. YET) towards the third trimester, the aches and pains in the nether regions are coming back with a vengeance," Megan wrote. "And much earlier in the pregnancy than I remember with River."

She explained how she is also much bigger, much earlier -- though not so much from a weight perspective -- "but a girth perspective".

"Doesn't help that this little bun (now a serious damper loaf) is measuring slightly big for the stage we're at," she wrote, referencing her pregnancy announcement back in April in which she shared a photo of a bun in an oven. "So I very well could have a big baby on my hands come push time," she joked, adding the embarrassed emoji.  

"I have also welcomed back my old mates, water retention, snoring and heartburn," she continued. "That all said and jokes aside, I am just marvelling at what my body is capable of and I am LOVING every little kick, punch and jostle that is going on in there."  

She added, "I mean I'm growing a freaking human - how cool is that?!"

In February, Melbourne-based Megan, who already has 2-year-old son, River with Shaun, shared her personal experience of losing a baby in May 2016 to InStyle magazine.

Finally, she signed off the post with an empowering message to all expecting mums:

"So lucky, so blessed and I may not get to do this again so I'll take the bad because I know there's SO much good, now and in the future," she wrote, adding, "So here's to #embracingthebump."

Now that's a message we can all get behind.
