Troy Delmege and Carly Bowyer have revealed watching the Married At First Sight reunion episode has "re-opened old wounds" with Ashley Irvin.

The pair had an awkward encounter during the reunion when they explained to Irvin, that they were now a couple -- six weeks after Delmege and Irvin split up at their vow renewal ceremony.

However, despite burying the hatchet after the episode was filmed, the trio's relationship has become tense again.

"I think it's reopening old wounds," Bowyer told 9Now on Thursday. "I did reach out to Ashley after the reunion, and she did forgive us and she sort of said that she was happy for us, but then I think watching the show back she's kind of backtracked again."

Delmege said their interactions with Irvin have become difficult since the pre-recorded double episode aired on Tuesday and Wednesday.

"I'll just be frank about it. There is a bit of tension, I think," said Delmege. "Having to watch it back on TV definitely inflamed our relationship a bit. We sort of had buried the hatchet a couple of months ago after the reunion. I made an effort to reach out to her.

On Thursday morning, Irvin shared a photo of all 11 female participants to her Instagram, however she cropped Carly's face out of the image. When one user commented, "Where's Carly?", the flight attended replied: "Who?"

The couple both hope the hurt and anger will "die down" soon, with Troy telling 9Now, "At the end of the day, I'm not going to begrudge anyone being happy. I hope Ash does find happiness and I'm confident she will. I don't want anyone to be miserable, so eventually things will settle down."
