Married At First Sight's Alene 'devastated' by breakup, Simon searches for love on Tinder

Married at First Sight's beloved couple Simon McQuillan and Alene Khatcherian are officially no more, but the transition hasn't exactly been easy.

TheFIX was the first to confirm the breakup news.

The Courier-Mail reports that it was Simon who ended things recently, and that Alene was "devastated" by the blow.

In a joint statement to TheFIX on Tuesday, the pair said: "It was a difficult decision but we have decided to part ways. We remain the greatest of friends and we will continue to be part of each others’ lives. We thank you for your privacy at this time."

And it looks like Simon is already moving on.

According to The Courier-Mail, a Tinder profile allegedly belonging to Simon has surfaced on the mobile app. He gives scant details about himself or what he's looking for in a partner, but the profile does feature what appears to be a pic of the Ipswich truck parts manufacturer and a photo of a wheel from a truck.

Fans will remember that distance put some strain on Simon and Alene's relationship. Last month, Alene, 31, reportedly had plans to move from Sydney to Ipswich to be with Simon, 37.

The twosome met on last season of the popular reality TV series. Along with Sharon Marsh and Nick Furphy, they were the only two couples to stay together after the series ended.

On a happier note, Sharon and Nick have been settling into married life nicely in Melbourne.
