'Married At First Sight' 2019: Matthew's says he feels 'pressure' to lose his virginity

Married At First SightMarried At First Sight says he felt pressure from the other grooms at the bucks night when he disclosed his virginity.

On Monday night's episode, during a conversation with the men about consummating their upcoming marriages, the 29-year-old nervously spoke about his sexual inexperience, and was met with a lot of interest and questions.

"I certainly felt that was a lot of pressure and a lot of expectations put on me that night," he tells 9Honey Celebrity, recalling the night. "The guys at the buck's night, were all sort of hoping it would happen for me."

In tonight's episode of Married At First Sight, Matt will marry a complete stranger, and will likely need to tell her about his virginity. Thankfully, he's finding the more he talks about it, the less scared he feels.

"When I first started the application process, I couldn't even say the words 'I'm a virgin'," he remembers. "It would cause me such anxiety and embarrassment that I just couldn't physically say the words. Now I can say it and it doesn't bother me at all.

"It's one of those things that I have had such anxiety and fear built up around it that I was so embarrassed about it. Then one day I just went, 'You know what? It is what it is. I can't change it, but I can own it. So I've accepted it and I've accepted that this is me and each time I've spoken about it, that fear, that anxiety has sort of just loosened its grip."

As for having his personal journey broadcast on national television, Matthew says "I can't do much about it. It is what it is, and I guess I've made my peace with it."
