Mariah Carey had a close encounter with a shark and she's not happy

Mariah Carey "is upset" after a large shark invaded her lavish yacht holiday.

While sunning herself on her large sailboat, Mariah Carey had a rather unexpected visitor that left her "scared" and "upset."

Documenting the close encounter with a video posted on her Instagram, the 48-year-old songstress was pictured smiling nervously as a large shark swam alongside her luxurious yacht.

"Okay this is not okay. I know it's a shark and I'm not supposed to be scared, but I'm scared -- I'm upset," said Carey while pointing at the large creature of the deep.

Towards the end of the video, one of her children can be heard asking her why she's upset to which she responded, "He's huge!"

Not having a bar of her tantrum, fans were quick to call the award-winning singer out for her outburst.

"That's a nurse shark, harmless!" Wrote one fan.

"How dare that shark swim near your boat! Does he even know who's on that boat?" Commented another.

"Girl...you are at HIS house," pointed out another fan.

Dressed in a pink bathing suit, the pop star has been far from shy about showing off her svelte figure over the last few days while "resting on the boat."

Posing with her daughter, the 'We Belong Together' hitmaker looked relaxed and happy in a body-hugging jumpsuit that revealed her ample cleavage.

Just last week, the Caesars Palace resident announced that she was cancelling her Australian and New Zealand October tour due to a "scheduling conflict."

The star shared the news in a statement posted via MJR Presents, the company behind her Down Under tour.

"It is with much regret that I am unable to visit Australia & New Zealand later this year, however I promise to find new dates soon. I've been working away on new music and I cannot wait to share it with you later this year."
