Mariah Carey's $7.6 million home broken into while singer away on holiday

Mariah Carey's multi-million-dollar US home was broken into last month, reports reveal, with the perpetrators taking advantage while the star was away on a luxurious trip in Italy and the Hamptons.

According to Page Six, police have confirmed the incident is still an "open investigation", meaning details are limited.

The burglary was reported in Alabama on July 27.

"This is still an open investigation, the information may be limited," police reportedly told the publication.

When the incident occurred, Carey was holidaying in Capri, Italy with her boyfriend Bryan Tanaka and her twins Monroe and Moroccan.

The singer then moved on to a boujee stay at a Hamptons mansion called 'The Water Mill' home, which is on the market for $US20 million (approx. $28.1 million).

Carey purchased her Alabama mansion for $US5.65 million (approx. $7.6 million) in November 2021. The massive home has nine bedrooms, 13 bathrooms and features a pool, tennis court and playground.

In more Carey news, the star has just announced that she will be performing at the next Global Citizen Festival in New York in September.

"NEW YORK, mark your calendars! On Sept 24, I'm teaming up with @glblctzn to call on world leaders and corporations to empower women + girls, take climate action, and end extreme poverty," she wrote in an Instagram post.

Other stars set to perform at the festival include the lineup includes Metallica, Rosalía, Mickey Guyton, Charlie Puth, the Jonas Brothers, and Måneskin.

The event will be hosted by Priyanka Chopra Jonas, wife to Nick Jonas and Global Citizen Ambassador.
