Margot Robbie shares first look at Harley Quinn in 'Birds of Prey'

New year, new Harley Quinn!

The DC Comics superhero, portrayed on screen by Australian actress Margot Robbie in 2016's Suicide Squad, is back, and Robbie has shared the first look at the infamous troublemaker's new look.

On Instagram January 28 (January 29 AEDT), the 28-year-old Dalby native posted a smoochy set photo of herself in full costume for the forthcoming film Birds of Prey (And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn).

The look -- which included a pink crop top styled with rainbow party streamers -- appeared more festive than Harley's famous t-shirt and shorts combo, but at least her signature red lip remains.

"Miss me? 💋HQ," she captioned the pic.

In addition, along with the first set photo, an equally mysterious teaser video titled "See You Soon" appeared on YouTube.

In the teaser, over dramatic electronic music, Robbie is joined by castmates Jurnee Smollett-Bell, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Rosie Perez, Ella Jay Basco, and Ewan McGregor. In the eighth DC film, Harley Quinn must team up with superheroines Huntress (Winstead), Black Canary (Smollett-Bell), and Renee Montoya (Perez) to save Cassandra Cain (Basco) from the crime lord Black Mask (Gregor).

The clip ends with Harley Quinn's full face in view as she stars curiously into the camera while sucking on a lollipop.

Birds of Prey (And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) is directed by Cathy Yan and set for 2020 release.
