Michigan man chokes mother in argument over Justin Bieber lyrics

Is it too late now to say sorry?

A 21-year-old Michigan man was arrested for alleged domestic assault after choking his mother inside a car. The reason: Justin Bieber.

"[The man] indicated that a Justin Bieber song came on the radio," county sheriff's Capt. Randy Fewless told local paper The Record Eagle. "A verbal argument ensued regarding certain lyrics."

What lyrics??

Capt. Randy declined to elaborate.

After arguing with her Justin Bieber-loving (or possibly -hating) son, the Michigan woman pulled over, climbed in the back seat, and yelled at him to be more respectful in front of his grandmother, who was also in the car. This is when the man choked his mum, but good news – she's OK! And he's behind bars.

The police were alerted and Capt. Randy sent the man straight to county jail.

Since there are only a handful of Justin Bieber songs currently circulating on the radio, we're going to guess the inflammatory lyrics probably lie in one of the following tracks: 'Sorry', 'Love Yourself', or 'Company'.

Of the three, the most likely contender is 'Love Yourself', since it features an iconic line about strife between a mother and son: "My mama don't like you, and she likes everyone".

Thematically, it makes sense. Perhaps the mother of this Michigan man doesn't like his girlfriend, even though she likes everyone.

The pair could also have been disagreeing over whether the original lyrics of the track, which was co-written by Ed Sheeran, are actually "F--- Yourself". (They are.)

Justin Bieber has yet to comment on the incident.
