Lori Loughlin spotted out for the first time since prison release

Lori Loughlin has been spotted for the first time since being released from prison late last year.

In photos obtained by Page Six, the Full House alum, 56, was photographed doing volunteer work in Los Angeles on Tuesday, nearly three months after serving her sentence.

Loughlin is currently volunteering at Project Angel Food, the same organisation where she completed her court-ordered community service last month.

The actress and her husband, Mossimo Giannulli, admitted in May 2020 to paying US$500,000 (approx. $644,000) to get their two daughters — Olivia Jade and Isabella Rose — into the University of Southern California. Loughlin agreed to serve two months behind bars, perform 100 hours of community service and pay a US$150,000 (approx. $193,000) fine.

The former Fuller House star was released from the federal lockup in Dublin, California in December, 2020. Meanwhile, Giannulli is scheduled to be released on April 17.

While Loughlin has yet to address the scandal following her release, she was visibly emotional while speaking to the judge at her virtual hearing last year.

"I made an awful decision. I went along will the plan to give my daughters an unfair advantage in the college admissions process," Loughlin said on August 21. "In doing so, ignored my intuition and allowed myself to be swayed from my moral compass. I thought I was acting out of love for my children, but in reality, I had only undermined and diminished my daughters' abilities and accomplishments.

"While I wish I could go back and do things differently, I can only take responsibility and move forward."
