Lionel Richie's son Miles was detained for an alleged bomb hoax

Lionel Richie's only son, Miles Richie -- whose siblings include Nicole Richie and Lionel Richie -- is believed to be responsible for a bomb scare at Heathrow Airport.

According to TMZ, multiple eyewitnesses say they saw the 24-year-old model become aggressive and angry when he was denied boarding a flight for undisclosed reasons. The outlet reported that Miles then threatened to detonate a bomb he claimed to have in his bag unless he was allowed to board. When security were called, he allegedly punched one of them in the face and was consequently detained by authorities.

A member of the Metropolitan Police Force was able to confirm that the incident took place to E! News, however they did not reveal the individual's identity.

"On Saturday, January 19, a 24-year-old man accepted a caution for communicating false information causing a bomb hoax and battery following an incident at Heathrow Terminal 5 earlier that morning," read the statement from authorities.

Following his detainment, TMZ reported that Miles was released and issued with a caution by police, which he is believed to have accepted.

In the UK, cautions are usually assigned for minor crimes and don't carry a conviction, however they do go on the individual's permanent record.

Miles made his runway debut at New York Fashion Week around this time last year and is the second oldest child of Lionel, 69, and the only son to former dancer, Diane Alexander, 51.

Miles made headlines five years ago when a video went viral of Kylie Jenner -- who was underage at the time -- tattooed her initials on his hand illegally, and was fined US$1,000 (approx. $1,397).

Miles has yet to make a public comment on the alleged bomb hoax.
