Lily Collins announces engagement to Charlie McDowell

Lily Collins and Charlie McDowell are engaged!

The 31-year-old English-American actress shared a photo to Instagram announcing their news and showing off her brand new ring.

"I've been waiting my lifetime for you and I can't wait to spend our lifetime together...," she captioned the photo.

She then shared a second post, a selfie of her beaming in the sunshine. "The purest joy I've ever felt...," she wrote.

Collins confirmed their relationship in August of last year. McDowell, 37, is a film director and producer. He is the son of British actor Malcolm McDowell and actress Mary Steenburgen, and has previously dated Game of Thrones star Emilia Clarke.

Collins also shared a close-up of the ring, as well as a snap of the moment McDowell proposed.

Collins is currently starring in Netflix show Emily in Paris.
