Actor and comedian Leslie Jordan's cause of death confirmed three months after fatal car accident

The cause of death of actor and comedian Leslie Jordan has been revealed.

The beloved Hollywood star died aged 67 following a car accident in LA on October 24, with the Los Angeles County Coroner's Office confirming today that Jordan died inside his car following a "sudden cardiac dysfunction".

The coroner determined Jordan's death was from natural causes, listing arteriosclerotic cardiovascular disease as a secondary factor. The star – who was more than two decades sober at the time of his death – had no drugs or alcohol found in his system.

Leslie Jordan, the Emmy-winning actor whose wry Southern drawl and versatility made him a comedy and drama standout on TV series including "Will & Grace" and "American Horror Story," has died. He was 67.

It was the LAPD who confirmed Jordan's sudden death three months ago, with the actor's representative confirming the report on social media hours after. 

"The love and light that Leslie shared will never go out and we invite you to share your memories and comfort each other during this time," the rep wrote on Jordan's Instagram.

"In the coming days we will be giving a glimpse of a project Leslie was really proud of and was looking forward to sharing with the world."

Jordan was best known for his roles in American Horror Story, Call Me Kat and Will & Grace, where he played the overly camp Beverly Leslie – a role that won him a Primetime Emmy for outstanding guest actor in a comedy series in 2006.

His Will & Grace co-star Eric McCormack, who played Will, was among the first to pay tribute to the star after his passing.

"Crushed to learn about the loss of @thelesliejordan, the funniest & flirtiest southern gent I've ever known," McCormack tweeted.
