Larry King to pay ex-wife Shawn King $45k a month in spousal support

Larry King is going to cough up US$33,000 (approx. $45,000) per month in spousal support to his estranged wife Shawn Southwick King.

The American TV host, 87, will also pay a one-off sum of US$20,000 (approx. $27,000), legal documents obtained by Page Six indicate.

The agreement will be in place until April 29, 2021, when a hearing will decide if Shawn, 60, is entitled to retroactive payments from the date of her divorce filing.

Shawn filed for spousal support in September this year, claiming she had no other form of income. She filed to end their marriage in August 2019.

Larry previously indicated religious differences and a 26-year age gap contributed to the dissolution of his marriage.

"Also my wife is a very religious Mormon, and I'm an agnostic atheist, so that causes little problems," he told CNN earlier in the year. "We overcame a lot, but it just hit a point where we didn't get along."

The exes share two sons together, Chance, 21, and Cannon, 20. Larry, a father-of-five, has been previously married eight times to seven women.

Meanwhile, two of Larry's other children recently died within weeks of each other. On July 28, his son Andy passed away following a heart attack and his daughter Chaia died after a battle with lung cancer on August 20.
