Kris Jenner reportedly dropping last name to distance herself from Bruce

Kris Jenner may soon have something in common with Madonna other than her quest to stay eternally young.

Radar Online is reporting that the 59-year-old is planning to drop her surname as her ex-husband Bruce Jenner transitions to become a woman.

"Kris doesn't want to be associated with Bruce," a source says. "The transition to becoming a woman and the fatal car crash just made the decision so much easier for her."

Apparently, going back to Kardashian isn't on the table, though Kris "regretted dropping it when she married Bruce".

The source adds, "Kris thinks that changing to Kardashian would be met with backlash. But she wants to be recognized as an independent single woman, and there is just no need to use Jenner."

Maybe not, but the single moniker Kris doesn't have quite the same singular ring as Madonna, Cher and Rihanna, does it? Apparently, Kris isn't worried about being confused with other people with the same first name (like daughter Kim's ex-husband).

"She thinks she can pull it off because the entire world knows who she is," the source says.

And of course, you're not a true star until the world is on a first-name basis with you.
