Kourtney Kardashian's surprising response to critic who urged her to holiday less and donate more

Kourtney Kardashian fired off a surprising comeback when an Instagram follower criticised her for going on vacation.

The Keeping Up With the Kardashians star was casually soaking up the sun in Colorado when the critic questioned her support for charitable causes.

"Why can't you donate more money or your time to help people of the world?" the follower commented on the star's lakeside bikini pic.

Rather than ignore the remark, the 41-year-old — who is worth US$35 million (approx. $48 million) — spread some positivity in her reply.

"Always wanting to help more, do you have suggestions?" she wrote back. "Let's encourage each other, ways others can help too. As humans sharing this planet, I find it our duty to help each other."

This wasn't the first time Kourtney and her famous family were targeted for their supposed lack of donations.

Back in January, when bushfires raged in parts of Australia, one Twitter user accused the reality TV clan for not doing enough.

"Nothing gets me more heated than to see the Kardashians/Jenners talk about climate change/wildfires & not donate even a penny," tweeted the critic.

Kourtney's sisters, Kim and Khloé Kardashian, were not having it with Kim responding, "Nothing gets me more heated than to see people think they know what we donated to and to think we have to publicize everything."

Meanwhile, Khloé shared a passage from the Modern King James Version of the Bible, which read, "Thus, when you give to the needy, sound no trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may be praised by others. Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward."
