Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are expecting their third child via surrogate

And baby makes five!

Multiple sources have confirmed that reality star Kim Kardashian, 36, and her rapper husband Kanye West, 40, are expecting their third child via surrogate.

The baby is expected to arrive in January, a source told TMZ.

"The entire family is over the moon. Kim had been looking for a surrogate for months until recently when she found the perfect candidate," another source told People.

Rumours of Kim and Kanye's plans to expand their family have been swirling since earlier this year, and in late June it was reported that they had hired a surrogate. The surrogate, whose identity has not been released, was reportedly paid $45,000. During the process, she is said to be banned from smoking, alcohol, drugs, raw fish, and hot tubs.

The People source continued, "They want everything to be perfect and for the baby to be extremely healthy. They don’t want any complications and Kim is providing an ideal eating regimen and diet so everyone knows what the baby is consuming before it’s born."

During her first two pregnancies, Kim suffered from placenta accreta, potentially life-threatening condition, and was advised by her doctors that she was too high risk to carry another child. Her pregnancy struggles were well documented on her reality show, Keeping Up With the Kardashians.



"Given her health scares in the past, Kim felt the need to hire a surrogacy agency that helped serve as the liaison in finding a healthy woman who would be a great surrogate option for her and Kanye," added the People source. "Both of them have been super involved in the process."


Kim and Kanye married in 2014 and are parents to daughter North, 4, and son Saint, 18 months.
