According to a police statement, at around 2am on Friday, authorities responded to a call about a car on fire. When they arrived at the scene, they found a vehicle engulfed in flames and two victims who were pronounced dead at the scene.

Police confirmed the bodies have been taken to a medical examiner's office to be identified. The case remains under investigation and no arrests have been made.

E! News reports Aaron Anderson, a friend of Kim's son, Chris, was the last person to drive the car, though according to a source, he was not supposed to use it.

Aaron's parents, Michelle and Thurston Anderson have not heard from their son since the incident. They were interviewed by police and have visited the crime scene.

During an interview with NBC New York, they revealed that their son had not been answering his phone, and that they are concerned.

"I've been calling him, and it's going to voicemail," Michelle said. "I would have heard from him."

Thurston added: "We have nothing definite so we wanted to look at the spot. We're not sure yet…I'm hoping nothing happened."

On Monday morning, Kim, who joined the fifth season of RHONJ in 2013, posted a message to Instagram expressing her condolences for the victims' families and confirming both her and her son Chris are safe.
