Khloé Kardashian 'will not tolerate false accusations' as she hits back at former household assistant's claims about unpaid wages

Khloé Kardashian has hit back after being named in a lawsuit by a former employee who is suing her for allegedly breaching California's labour laws.

The reality TV star responded in a statement via her legal team to deny all claims made by Matthew Manhard, an ex-household employee who alleges he was given so many tasks he was unable to take legally required breaks, wasn't paid overtime on days he worked 12-hour days and was fired after taking a leave of absence following a knee injury.

Kardashian's rep denied all the allegations, telling Entertainment Tonight in a statement: "It's unfortunate to learn that a former employee would choose to go this route. Matthew was properly classified and compensated for his role."

"Toward the end of his employment, he was on a leave of absence for an extended period, and the role eventually needed to be replaced," the rep said of Manhard's leave of absence. "We will not tolerate false accusations and will prove that this is a frivolous lawsuit."

In 2021, her sister, Kim Kardashian, found herself in a similar situation when seven of her employees from her LA home filed a lawsuit against the Skims founder, claiming she did not pay them overtime nor allow breaks during their shift.

Kim, 42, denied all the allegations via her legal team and said the workers were hired by a third part and should therefore take up the issue with them.

"These workers were hired and paid through a third-party vendor," her spokesperson said. "Kim is not party to the agreement made between the vendor and their workers, therefore she is not responsible for how the vendor manages their business."
